  • Cost Estimator & Planning Engineer

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Responsible for creating a full manufacturing plan & computing job cost of customer product by identifying labor, material, and time requirements by reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Develop cost estimates based on a manufacturing plan that will produce product in the most economical manner including material requirements, labor, and job routing.
    • Analyze design process and quality requirements to accurately determine manufacturing methods.
    • Create Bill of Material (BOM) listing.
    • Interface with Suppliers/Purchasing for all outsourced pricing.
    • Maintain quote files.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 5 years recent experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with a strong machining background.
    • Must be able to operate computer and have in depth knowledge of capabilities/limitations of aerospace environment and CNC machining equipment.
    • Must be able to interpret engineering/tool designs and understand the use/application of learning curves to obtain labor hours for quantity quoted.
    • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, customer specifications and instructions.
    • Strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and good judgement in dealing with incoming projects as well as adapting to changing product parameters and customer requirements.

  • CNC Mastercam/Catia Programmer

    Position Summary

    Responsible for developing software programs that direct CNC (computer numerically controlled) machines to cut and shape material to produce components using CAD models and/or blueprints that define the configuration and requirements of the machined part.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Interpret drawings and models to create programs for CNC machines that include proper methodology, tooling cutting speeds and feeds to generate quality parts in accordance with production standards.
    • Create set up sheets based on established criteria.
    • Revise programs and documents based on engineering changes.
    • Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel to resolve machining or quality issues.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating manual or CNC machines in a manufacturing environment; preferred.
    • 2 years of experience directly related to CNC programming; preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Catia V5, and/or Mastercam software.
    • Working knowledge of Vericut is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used on various machines.
    • Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Responsible for managing all processes related to the purchasing of materials, parts, supplies, and services to support production while meeting delivery requirements and quality specifications.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Coordinate and manage all purchasing activity including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of products and supplies.
    • Facilitate supplier communication to ensure that product requirements and deadlines are met in addition to sourcing new suppliers to meet business requirements.
    • Monitor lead-time, pricing, shipping and quality discrepancies and provide problem resolution as needed.
    • Optimize production efficiency and throughput by focusing on forecasting, inventory planning, and scheduling to ensure on time deliveries by monitoring material availability, capacity levels and inventory controls.
